Hello, guys. I've been subscribed to my tasks with no problems for a long time. But starting yesterday, I'm getting the following error message when I try to refresh my subscribed calendar on iCal:
| The server "mytasks.usetasks.com" rejected your login or password. |
I'm subscribed to:
webcal://username@mytasks.usetasks.com/icalendar.php
... where "username" and "mytasks" are placeholders for my actual username and tasks account name. I've tested my login on the web, and it works.
Has anyone else been having similar authentication problems?

There haven't been server or software changes lately - can't think of anything from this side that would have caused that to stop working.
Did you upgrade to OS X 10.5.7? Perhaps some passwords/settings were lost in the upgrade?
The URL you should be subscribed to, if you are embedding the username and password in the URL and using 401 auth, is:
webcal://username:password@mytasks.usetasks.com/icalendar.php
I believe you can enter a username and password for 401 authenticated iCalendars in iCal - if so then you'd use:
webcal://mytasks.usetasks.com/icalendar.php
And enter the username and password when prompted.

Thanks, Alex. Yes, I'm using 10.5.7. When the prompt comes up in iCal, I enter my username and password (which have been tested on usetasks), and the subscribed calendar remains offline.
I've tried removing the subscription and adding it again, and it still fails. I also tried subscribing as:
webcal://username:password@mytasks.usetasks.com/icalendar.php webcal://username@mytasks.usetasks.com/icalendar.php webcal://mytasks.usetasks.com/icalendar.php
The 2nd two prompted for username and password, but none of the above worked.
It may be the 10.5.7 update that is messing things up!

That sounds like the "moving piece" in all this. Switching to URL-based auth should work until 10.5.8 or a patch update fixes iCal.

By URL-based auth, do you mean using:
webcal://username:password@mytasks.usetasks.com/icalendar.php
?
That didn't work either.
Anyone else out there on 10.5.7. Does yours work?
