You can view hierarchical tasks via tree view, this is nice.  It would be also nice to view them in "mind mp view" something like this:

Some people might find the map view easier to navigate than the tree view.

I'm afraid that the best solution to this is to set up your default groups settings and then you don't have to worry about them. You may not need the type of control that groups give you, but this is a core feature of the product for many customers.

I like the ability to email messages and get them converted to tasks. However, it would be much more powerful if the mailbox feature looked at the email address of the sender and then added it to that person's task--instead of to the admin account which then requires reassignment.

I would like to be able to create a task and set the owner to another individual employee. I still want to be able to see/monitor this task as the creator.

I know I can do this with groups, but it would be much easier if there were a setting that allowed tasks to be be seen by both the creator and the owner.

There are a number of changes planned for future releases, including a revamp of the user interaction model.

As for customization, you may do so as noted in this FAQ:

Hi, do you've plans to update the Tasks interface with AJAX; I've tried TODOIST and Tracks (other GTS sites), both of which use AJAX on their sites and the experience I got from those sites felt better, with quicker response times; if not, is that something I can do myself, i.e. is the Tasks software customizable to include AJAX features in the interface or it is completely proprietory and no code is exposed for tweaking;
Colors: is text (tasks, tags, notes, etc.) and background color modifiable in usetasks or Tasks? if not, do you have plans to make that possible;
Lastly, is it possible to make the priority box (to the left of each task) a bit more prominent; right now, it's really hard to make a distinction between tasks with high and low priorities.

It would be great to automatically be able to assign a Tag, like "new" or "incoming" to tasks sent in via e-mail.  It would make it easier to find them and edit them.  I searched but couldn't find a way to do this in the current version (I'm using UseTasks).

Can you consider adding more flexibility to the navigation pane where you select Home, New Task, New Note, etc.  It would be great if it could just be shown as links along the top of the page as well as at the bottom of the page.  This would allow the task list to span the entire width of the browser.  It would look better in print also.  The webmail program I use has this feature, you can choose to show the menu as a panel on the left or as links along the top.

I tried creating a file URL as above, but it did not work.  the file name did have spaces and usetasks converted those to "%20" and indicated the file could not be found.  the format of the link was "file:///\\server\folder\file name.mdb".  usetasks converted the name to "file:///\\server\folder\file%20name.mdb." and was unable to locate it.   Perhaps, it could be programmed to read names in quotations as literal values similar to how windows command prompt works.

My company uses Tasks Pro to keep our Safety and Preventative maintenance programs in effect and running smoothly.  Each week my boss would like me to supply him with a report of some kind with any overdue tasks that need attention.  I know how to define which tasks need attention in a group in the search query feature of Tasks Pro, but is there anyway for me to "Title" my  results?
